Alice was just starting her chemo at Northwestern when she was contacted by Jim. Jim had found her on the CIDP forum, and sent her an email to ask if he could contact her via skype.
So Alice and he would skype regularly throughout her treatment, and it quickly became evident that Jim too would come to Northwestern.
Jim's CIDP progression was identical to Alice's, and he's come to see her as hope that he too will get past this disease.
He affectionately calls her "Exhibit A" :-)
So, just a few months later, we are accompanying Jim for his stem cell treatment at Northwestern. When we learned he was admitted into the trial, we suggested accompanying him as we weren't back at work yet, and it's not a process you want to go through alone.
